My name is Mrs. Halbersma (or Mrs. H. for short) and I am looking forward to teaching your child this year. I have been teaching for many years in a variety of assignments, including kindergarten, grade 2 and 3. I will be teaching two kindergarten classes this year, KA (Monday/Wednesday) and KB (Tuesday/Thursday). I am looking forward to working with you and your child to plan and provide a stimulating, enjoyable and fun-filled year.
Our classroom is a busy place, full of learning through a variety of hands-on activities. Young children see the world very differently than older students and adults, and they are taught best through direct, sensory experience. They need to manipulate, explore and experiment with real objects, and further their understanding by doing, moving and talking.
